I'm going the distance this April to help bring life-changing CAR T-cell therapy home to New Zealand.

Right now, many Kiwis with aggressive blood cancers have to travel thousands of kilometres overseas and pay enormous costs to access CAR T treatment.

I’m taking on this challenge because no one should have to leave Aotearoa for life-changing cancer care. Every kilometre I complete and every dollar I raise will support the Malaghan Institute’s ENABLE-2 trial - a critical step toward making CAR T-cell therapy available in New Zealand’s public health system, close to home and whānau.

Please support my challenge if you can. Together, we can help bring this treatment home.

Halfway to Go The Distance

Friday 17th Apr
Well we are just over halfway and it has been a challenge to get out and walk some days due to the weather. On the heavy rainy days  I've gone  out  whenever it clears to add to my kms. Currently 96km, a little under my halfway target, so will have to walk further each day to make sure I reach my 200km target by the end of the month.  If you could please give me some support and motivation with a donation to my page, it is appreciated, and Support for the great research at the Malghan Institute.

Walking for Tony

I am participating in this challenge to help support the research being done in New Zealand to make Car t cell treatment available for New Zealanders. I am even more aware of the need for this treatment to be accessable here in New Zealand since my husband was diagnosed with Mantle cell lymphoma Feb 2026.  We are hopeful his body responds to the current option of treatment with Chemo/Immunotherapy.  Looking to the future it would be reassuring knowing that Car T cell therapy would be available.  The Malaghan institute is doing amazing research & trials. Please support my walking challenge with your donation. Thereby supporting the Malaghan institute
