My target 510 kms
I miss you Elaine and Vince and I don't want to miss any more friends.
I've never done a fundraiser like this, but I'm biking a lot anyway, and it'll be good to get 510km in a month. This is intentionally 10km more than Ashley Bloomfield, a nod to my competitive nature. My title really says how I feel. Following are the words from Malaghan Institute. I also really want to support them and feel proud of a Kiwi research organisation making a huge contribution.
Thanks to everyone who supports my effort, no pressure and no donation is too small (or too big).
My cover photo is me on the runway at Wellington Airport. It has no relation to the challenge, but I was very lucky to get a tour last year and love the photo.
From Malaghan
Right now, many Kiwis with aggressive blood cancers have to travel thousands of kilometres overseas and pay enormous costs to access CAR T treatment.
I’m taking on this challenge because no one should have to leave Aotearoa for life-changing cancer care. Every kilometre I complete and every dollar I raise will support the Malaghan Institute’s ENABLE-2 trial - a critical step toward making CAR T-cell therapy available in New Zealand’s public health system, close to home and whānau.
Please support my challenge if you can. Together, we can help bring this treatment home.

It’s not that far.
