Lily Among Thorns was started by Sharon and Teah, a mum and daughter crafting duo, to create unique hand crafted polymer clay earrings but with the intent to give back a portion of the sales to support cancer research. The name and logo for Lily Among Thorns came about as Sharon is a lung cancer survivor, and the Lily of the Valley flowers represent HOPE even AMONG the hard times represented by the THORNS. We want to support and are encouraging others to help us donate to our Malaghan Institute fundraising page. The Malaghan Institute is based in Wellington, New Zealand, whose cutting-edge research and clinical trials are advancing the understanding of the immune system and its relationship to human health. Their research is focused on finding ways to assist or train our immune system to better recognize and target different forms of cancer. The study of CAR T-cell therapy is a revolutionary new approach and has the potential to transform cancer treatment, as well as making treatment more accessible and affordable for all New Zealanders.
